Ghana’s bid to play their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan at the Stade de Kégué in Togo in 2025 has been denied by the Togolese Football Federation.
When the Confederation of African Football (CAF) banned Baba Yara Stadium because of its subpar playing surface, Ghana’s Football Association (GFA) began looking for a new location for their third qualifying match.
According to reports, Ghana’s request to use the Stade de Kégué for the opening leg of the match has been denied by the Togolese FA.
Ghana’s sole remaining choice to host the pivotal match against Sudan in the matchday three games is Ivory Coast.
The second leg of the matchday four games will be played at Al-Merrikh Stadium, where Kwesi Appiah and his team will welcome the Black Stars.
But in the wake of the suspension, the National Sports Authority (NSA) closed Baba Yara Stadium for repairs.
