Hassan Ayariga, the flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), has criticized Movement for Change presidential candidate Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen for not having a strong campaign theme.
According to him, Ghana’s major economic problems cannot be adequately addressed by Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan (GTP), which attempts to revitalize the nation’s economy.
Ayariga went on to draw attention to Kyerematen’s role in the Akufo-Addo administration, charging him with being a member of the administration that mishandled the economy.
He maintained that Kyerematen is unfit to govern Ghana in the 2024 elections because of his ties to current administration.
Ayariga boldly compared Kyerematen’s policies to those of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claiming that their shortcomings and ideology are very similar.
He emphasized that the same flaws in the present NPP government are reflected in Kyerematen’s vision for the nation.
In an interview with Channel One TV, Ayariga called on voters to reject Kyerematen and the NPP in the next elections, arguing for new solutions and a different approach to government from what he views as ineffective policies.
He stated:
“Alan in one way or the other hand, I do not want to use certain words, but I will classify him as the class of C and G. It’s a political grading, so when you are able to know the words C and G, is the reason why he’s running for the presidency because he’s been part of the government that has failed.”
“Because he anticipated that he was not going to win the flagbearership race, he decided to withdraw and form his movement. And I ask what is the difference between Alan and NPP? If the NPP is bad, Alan is bad.
“He was part of it, if NPP is good Alan is good. So Alan has no message, his message is zero. And all these people following him, after 2024, Alan is gone. It’s a movement and after the 2024 election, that movement has no name.”
