4 arrested for concealing 315 compressed parcels of suspected Indian hemp in car tyres

Four individuals have been arrested in Tema for possession of 315 compressed parcels of suspected Indian hemp, which had been concealed in vehicle tyres.
The suspects, identified as Nura Sali, 44, Pius Chukwuma, 49, Mustapha Umar, 18, and Abdulai Amayau, 23, were apprehended at the Tema Industrial Area by the Tema Community 1 District Police.
The parcels were concealed in the tyres of a truck with registration number GN 7291-16, which was intercepted during a police operation.
The police in a statement said the suspects were arraigned before the Ashaiman Circuit Court on Thursday, September 11, 2025 and remanded into police custody.
They will reappear in court on September 30, 2025.
The truck with registration number GN 7291-16, which was used to transport the suspected narcotics, has also been impounded on the orders of the court pending further investigation.
