Freemasons to Celebrate Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s 25th Anniversary

This weekend, Freemasons from all throughout Ghana and beyond will assemble in Kumasi to celebrate Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s 25 years on the Golden Stool and 25 years as a Freemason.

The Grand Lodge of Ghana will celebrate its 15th anniversary at the event as well.

The Grand Patron of the Grand Lodge of Ghana, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will be honored at the ceremony, which is scheduled to take place at the Sir Agyemang Prempeh II Masonic Hall.

Since his ascent to the Golden Stool in 1999, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has been a staunch advocate of Freemasonry.

The celebrations will continue at Manhyia’s Jubilee Hall after the official Masonic ritual, encouraging a sense of fraternity and unity among all in attendance.

Background of the Grand Lodge In Ghana

On January 24, 2009, the Grand Lodge of Ghana was legally established as a “Sovereign Masonic Body.”

It is the governing body for Freemasonry in Ghana. It oversees the activities of Masonic lodges throughout the country, promoting the values of brotherhood, charity, and moral integrity. Established to provide a structured organization for Masons in Ghana, the Grand Lodge plays a significant role in coordinating Masonic events, charitable activities, and community service initiatives. It also upholds the traditions and principles of Freemasonry, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among its members. Through its efforts, the Grand Lodge of Ghana contributes to the social and cultural fabric of the nation.

Most Worshipful Brother Nana Osei Atwene Bonsu, the Grand Master of the moment, took office in May 2021.
