GRIDCo & ECG Announce 3-Week Dumsor Schedule

GRIDCo and ECG have announced a three-week load management plan due to reduced gas supply from Nigeria, which started on June 12, 2024, because of maintenance work by a Nigerian gas supplier. The West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) expects these activities to last three weeks.

Ghana’s total power generation capacity has decreased as a result of this circumstance, necessitating load shedding in order to effectively manage the distribution of electricity during this time.

The public has been reassured by GRIDCo and ECG that they are closely collaborating with other power sector stakeholders to maximize available resources and reduce any negative effects on consumers.

The businesses pledge to make sure that the interruptions are handled skillfully and that vital services are kept up during the period of lower gas supply.

GRIDCo and ECG apologized jointly in the statement for any inconvenience the power outages had caused.

To help lessen the effects of the decreased power generation capacity, they requested customers to cooperate with the load management measures and underlined their commitment to keeping the public informed about the situation.

During this period of reduced electricity supply, consumers are recommended to stay informed about anticipated power outages through official sources and make appropriate plans.
