On Saturday, June 22, Black Stars players Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, and Afena Gyan paid their respects to Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II, the Dagbon ruler, at the Gbewaa Palace.
This visit came before a friendly game at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale as part of the All Stars Festival against the Northern Stars.
Dede Ayew received recognition from the Yaa Naa for his important services to the Black Stars during the tour.
He received praise from the local community and the traditional leader for his leadership and commitment to the national squad.
The Black Stars players conveyed their gratitude for the kind welcome and the chance to interact with the Dagbon locals.
Dede Ayew demonstrated his abilities in the friendly match by scoring two goals, which made it an engaging game for both players and spectators.
The Northern Regional Sports Supporters Union (NORSSU) was ecstatic to be cheering on the All Star squad under Ayew’s leadership.
The friendly game was a part of larger initiatives to develop unity and football in Ghana’s diverse regions.
