2024 Homowo Festival Officially Launched

The 2024 Homowo festival was officially opened yesterday by the La Traditional Council, which emphasized the event’s role in advancing development and peace.

In order to guarantee the festival’s triumph and make it unforgettable for the whole La Traditional Area, a complex strategy has been put in place, with the ultimate goal being the town’s return to its former status as a quaint and serene model village.

At the Labadi Beach Hotel, the Traditional Council formally opened the Homowo celebration.

The theme for this year’s celebration is: “Development through Good Neighborliness and Peace; the Role of Traditional Festivals.”

Even though the ceremonies and preparations started in May, the main events take place from August 5 to August 30.

Among the events scheduled for the festivities are Blɔiahejuu, Wɔtɛjuramɔ, Shibaa, Gbɛmlilaa, and several more.

The La Shikitele, Nii Adjei Kofeh, highlights the significance of experiencing Homowo’s uniqueness and taking part in the festivities.

In addition, he disproved the notion that Homowo worships lesser gods or is fetishistic, urging all companies to take part in the event in order to profit from it.
