Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has demonstrated his dedication to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities (PWDs) by giving University of Ghana, Legon pupils personalized laptops and white canes.

The donation was made at the recently constructed Center for Disability Studies and Advocacy on campus by Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, on his behalf.

The MP reaffirmed Dr. Bawumia’s pledge to provide free postsecondary education for those with disabilities during the occasion, should he be elected president in the next elections on December 7.

One of the main tenets of the Bawumia campaign is free postsecondary education for people with disabilities, which he claims will promote inclusivity.

Director of the Center for Disability Studies and Advocacy at the University of Ghana, Dr. Peter Ndaa, hailed the timeliness of the support and stressed that it will be put to good use.
