Bernard Mornah Wins PNC’s Presidential Candidate Race

The People’s National Convention (PNC) has achieved a major milestone with the victory of Bernard Mornah in the flagbearer race.

On September 7, 2024, at the UDS Guest House in Accra, representatives from the Electoral Commission made the official announcement of his victory.

Mornah received a commanding 1,138 votes at the party’s congress, which was called to pick national executives in advance of the general elections in December.

David Apasera, his opponent, received 216 votes in the race.

Mornah reached out to Apasera in his victory speech, asking him to cooperate in order to bolster the party’s standing in the general elections. He emphasized that for the PNC to succeed politically, unity is essential.

Despite an injunction filed by Apasera’s camp that initially caused the congress to be postponed, the party was able to overcome the issue and allow the event to go forward without any more complications.
