Government Raises CPD Allowances For Teachers

An increase in the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) allowance for professional and non-professional teachers in pre-tertiary schools across the country has been announced by the government through the Ministry of Education.

The Ministry stated in a statement that professional teachers’ yearly allowance has raised from GH¢1,200 to GH¢2,400.

“From GH¢800 to GH¢1,200, non-professional teachers will now get. Teachers have already received payment for these updated amounts,” the statement continued.

According to the statement, these improvements show how dedicated the government is to helping educators further their professional development and skill upgrades so they may continue to teach effectively.

The CPD allowance was introduced in 2020 by the Government as part of efforts to encourage the professional growth of teachers and improve the quality of education.

It offers financial assistance to pre-tertiary educators, both professional and non-professional, so they can pursue training, pick up new techniques, and improve their abilities.
