Adamorobe Residents Demonstrate At Roads Ministry Over Poor Roads

The 10-kilometer road that connects Adamorobe, in the Akwapem South Municipality of the Eastern Region, needs urgent repairs, according to a protest held by the community’s leaders and inhabitants before the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

The residents of Adamorobe carried their complaints to Accra and filed a petition with the Roads Ministry in the hopes that swift action would be taken after numerous attempts to persuade local authorities to address the worsening road conditions were fruitless.

Opinion leader in Adamorobe, Dr. Raymond Takyi, disclosed that voter choices in the approaching elections in December could be greatly influenced by the condition of the roads.

“We have taken all the necessary steps. Even if this seems politically motivated, why do we vote? Why do we elect leaders? Leaders are meant to solve problems. If you’re in a position and not solving problems, what’s the point? This is the challenge in Ghana—we put incompetent people in leadership roles. But truthfully, this is not politically motivated,” he explained.
