Elorm Ababio, also referred to as Ama Governor, filed an application with the Accra Circuit Court requesting authorization to travel outside of its jurisdiction, but it was denied.
On Friday, October 11, during the ongoing legal proceedings involving the demonstrators from Democracy Hub, this decision was made. Just nine of the 52 protestors showed up for the hearing in court.
The prosecution, represented by State Attorney Amanda Awadi, told the court during the hearings that while they had filed certain disclosures, they still needed to file others.
She asked for an extension so that the filing procedure could be finished.
The attorney representing Ama Governor filed a request to be allowed to take her client on a trip outside the nation from October 13 until October 18.
Additionally, the attorney attempted to get her client’s allegation of assault on a public officer dropped.
Emmanuel Gyan, the second accused, was represented by a different attorney. He likewise asked for the accusations against his client to be withdrawn, claiming that his client was not present at the protest on the designated date.
The prosecution retorted that they had not received formal notification of these events and hence were not aware of them.
