13 Killed In Deadly Crash On Kumasi-Obuasi Highway

Today, Monday, October 14, 2024, at dawn, a VIP bus headed from Kumasi to Enchi in the Western North Region tragically went off the road and into a ditch in Kwapia, which is close to Obuasi.

According to police sources, the tragedy claimed the lives of thirteen people—seven men, five women, and one child—all of whom were on board the bus.

According to reports, all but one of the dead passengers passed away right away at the scene.

Osei Adu, the driver, was taken to the hospital right after for treatment, but he passed away soon after.

The local community has been rocked by the disaster, and families are still in mourning for their loved ones.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus—registered as ER 2445-11—was overloaded after picking up a lot of people who were stuck after another bus broke down along the route.

It’s thought that the driver may have become distracted due to an argument between a few irate passengers about the bus’s excessive weight, which ultimately led to the terrible tragedy.

Following the tragedy, medical attention is being given to those hurt in the collision, and authorities are starting to look into what caused the disaster.

The deceased’s remains have been placed to the morgue as the authorities try to learn more and assist the impacted family.
