Around 36 persons have been injured and three fatalities have been recorded on the Buduburam section of the Accra-Winneba route.
A construction business operating on the road blasted a rock, which caused the unfortunate occurrence.
According to information obtained, the explosion only lasted a few minutes, but it severely damaged several of the surrounding cars and buildings.
In an interview, irate locals claimed that although rocks had previously been blasted in the vicinity, they are generally alerted in advance so they can flee.
They were told on Monday that the blasting would happen at 4:30 p.m., but for unknown reasons, it happened before 3 p.m., seriously damaging the property.
The irrational locals have sworn to guarantee that the development be halted if it poses such a serious risk to their survival.
Numerous locals have gathered at Buduburam’s St Gregory Hospital, where the injured have been transported.
