Farmers’ Day Celebrations Scheduled For November 8

According to the Agriculture Ministry, Friday, November 8, 2024, will mark the 40th anniversary of Ghana’s National Farmers’ Day.

The event will take place throughout the Greater Accra Region, with the major celebration starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge, according to a press release signed by Paul Siameh, Acting Chief Director.

The Ministry has chosen not to hold celebrations at the regional level this year. Rather, 10 regional award categories allow each region to nominate winners.

The national Awards Night Ceremony will commemorate these honorees when they arrive in Accra.

During the ceremony, recipients from each region will receive prizes from regional ministers.

The Ministry has instructed each Regional Coordinating Council to pay for all costs associated with the participation of regional prize winners, including lodging, meals, and travel.

Furthermore, it is anticipated that Regional Ministers and Regional Directors of Agriculture will attend the Awards Night Ceremony; respective councils will cover the expense of their attendance.

The Ministry emphasized the significance of the occasion and explained how regional delegates celebrate and recognize Ghanaian farmers’ essential contributions to the country’s progress.
