On the road between Achimota and Tesano, a motorcyclist was killed when a police car struck him near Zongo Junction.
Because of the high traffic on both sides of the road, the police car was driving on the route headed for Accra when it failed to detect the motorcyclist.
On the route to an event at the Police Training School, the driver of the car, registered GP-413, is accused of speeding and colliding with the cyclist.
The cyclist, who has not yet been recognized, passed away instantly.
Traffic patrol police quickly responded by seizing the car and impounded it at the Tesano Police Station, where the driver was taken into custody.
The deceased’s body has been taken to the police morgue, along with the wrecked motorcycle.
