This evening, a group of suspected Techiman teenagers attacked busses traveling back from Nkoranza to Kumasi, injuring several people, including a kid.
The Asantehene had previously been escorted to a funeral in Nkoranza by the buses.
According to reports, after an incident involving the Asanteman convoy, Techiman teenagers threatened to assault anyone utilizing the road through Techiman before the funeral.
“There is no man in Techiman,” the convoy reportedly chanted as they blocked the roadway near Amamfom.
According to reports, this action incited the Techiman youth, which resulted in the buses being attacked in retaliation.
The victims of the violent altercation received medical care for their injuries.
Tensions between the two communities are still high, although police have not yet commented on the event.
