Dormaahene Commemorates 25 Years Of Reign With Spectacular Kwafie Festival
Dormaa Ahenkro hosted a lavish celebration of the 2024 Kwafie Festival and the Silver Jubilee of Osagyefo ̆seadeɛyɔ Dr. Fredua Agyemang Badu II, the Dormaahene.
The celebration attracted dignitaries and onlookers from all across Dormaa, showcasing a lively display of culture and heritage.
On July 25, 1999, Osagyefo ̆seadeɛyɔ Dr. Fredua Agyemang Badu II succeeded his late uncle, Nana Agyemang Badu I, to the Aduana throne.
The Dormaahene, who is currently celebrating 25 years in office, is also the president of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
With the theme “Our Environment, Our Future,” the celebration took place at the Agyemang Badu I Sports Stadium in conjunction with the Kwafie Festival.
Due to the importance of the event, thousands of people attended, including hundreds of chiefs and political figures.
In his speech, the Dormaahene thanked the people of Dormaaman, religious organizations, and succeeding administrations for their steadfast support during his rule.
By constructing factories and other resource-based projects, he underlined his dedication to furthering the development of the Dormaa Traditional Area. He pledged that Dormaaman will make even more strides in the years to come.
Ohenpon Yeboah Asiamah I, the event’s chairman, exhorted traditional leaders to take an active role in national concerns, especially those pertaining to environmental and land preservation.
He emphasized that the welfare of their people must come first and that the effects of environmental degradation must be addressed.
In order to support Bonoman’s progress, Ohenpon Yeboah Asiamah I also urged traditional leaders in Bono to work together.
