Approval Process For Mahama’s Ministerial Appointess Starts Today.

Today, January 13, 2025, the selections Committee of Parliament will review the initial round of ministerial selections made by President John Mahama.

This comes after the House, through Speaker Alban Bagbin, received an official message from the President informing them of the nominations and committee approval.

To make sure that only the most competent people are nominated to serve in the next administration, the committee will carefully review each nominee’s qualifications and fit for their respective jobs during the vetting process.

The first set of Finance, Energy, and Attorney General ministries was formally announced by the John Mahama administration on January 9, 2025.

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, MP and Majority Leader of Ajumako Enyan Essiam, has been assigned to the Finance Ministry; John Jinapor, MP of Yapei Kusawgu, has been named to the Energy Ministry; and Dr. Dominic Ayine, MP of Bolgatanga East, has been appointed to the positions of Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

President John Mahama’s Special Aide, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, highlighted the appointments’ skills and real-world experience in a statement.

“With their broad backgrounds, they are expected to play crucial roles in transforming the various sectors,” the statement said.

President Mahama’s first round of nominations after his inauguration on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, includes this appointment.

Meanwhile, because to the vetting procedure, the first meeting of the Ninth Parliament’s first session has been postponed until Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

The suspension period will also be used to organize a four-day orientation workshop for new legislators to familiarize themselves with the rudiments and procedures of the House.
