Unimpeachable sources within government have revealed that Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, is highly likely to be appointed as the new Majority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament.
This development, as reported by TV3, comes amid ongoing discussions within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the leadership structure of the majority caucus in Parliament.
Ayariga’s anticipated appointment follows a decision to reassess earlier selections for parliamentary leadership roles.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, initially announced as Majority Leader shortly after the NDC’s electoral victory, is expected to take on a different position in government. President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Dr. Forson for the role of Minister of Finance, a move that aligns with his expertise in financial and economic matters.
While Dr. Forson’s nomination for Majority Leader was initially well-received, sources suggest his skills are considered more impactful within the Finance Ministry.
