Former First Lady Naadu Mills Calls On Mahama To Extend Best Wishes

President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama were recently visited by former First Lady Ernestina Naadu Mills, who congratulated them on their momentous return to the Jubilee House.

Mrs. Mills expressed her sincere congratulations to President Mahama on his election victory in December 2024 while visiting the First Family at their Accra home.

Mrs. Mills has maintained a low profile and mostly avoided attending state events since she left public life after her husband, President John Evans Atta Mills, passed away in 2012. One of her few public appearances in the last 12 years is her engagement with the Mahamas.

It is important to note that John Dramani Mahama was Vice President during the time of her late husband, who was President of Ghana from January 7, 2009, until his tragic death on July 24, 2012. After President Mills’ death, Mr. Mahama took the oath of office and won the election on December 7, 2012. He served the entire term from January 7, 2013, to January 7, 2017.

Mr. Mahama switched to opposition after losing the 2016 general election to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He did, however, make a stunning political return with his overwhelming win in the December 7, 2024, election, which resulted in his inauguration for a second term on January 7, 2025.

Mrs. Mills’ visit serves as a symbolic reunion, reflecting the shared history and enduring connections between the Mahama and Mills families.
