Linda Ocloo’s Vetting Process Ends In Record Time Of Under 10 Minutes
In a remarkable development, Linda Akweley Ocloo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate, broke the record for the quickest nominee to finish the Parliamentary Appointments Committee’s vetting process.
There were no questions from committee members during Ocloo’s less than ten-minute meeting on Tuesday, January 28.
Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader, instead only said that the powerful delegation she was accompanied by was evidence of her ability.
Bernard Ahiafor, the chairman of the committee, thanked her visitors and quickly dismissed her.
If confirmed, the Shai Osudoku MP will focus on urban development, youth empowerment, and enhancing public services in the Greater Accra Region.
In stark contrast, Defence Minister-nominee, Dr. Omane Boamah, endured the longest vetting session of the day. His appearance before the committee stretched over four hours, as he faced intense scrutiny from members.
