Dr. Bernice Makafui Brempong has been named the new CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), with effect from January 29, 2025.
Yofi Grant, who held the position until December 30, 2024, is replaced by her.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 29, GIPC stated that Dr. Brempong, a results-oriented expert with a stellar reputation in healthcare, business development, and strategic alliances, brings a lot of expertise to her new position.
She has a doctorate in pharmacy from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a master’s degree in entrepreneurship from University College London, and a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Ghana’s School of Pharmacy.
Despite having a pharmacy degree, Dr. Brempong has established herself as a creative businesswoman. She has made a substantial contribution to Ghana’s socioeconomic development by founding and leading a number of successful businesses in the commodity, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries.
She formerly held executive leadership positions at Synergy Commodities Ltd. and D-Amphora Ltd. before being appointed CEO of Makhealth Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Dr. Brempong is a fervent supporter of the growth of Ghana’s health economy and thinks that luring investments in the medical field would be a major factor in long-term, steady economic expansion. She pledged to collaborate with stakeholders to improve Ghana’s business climate and bolster the nation’s standing as one of Africa’s leading investment destinations when she was appointed.
