A number of craftsmen and spare parts merchants are counting their losses after a destructive fire destroyed a portion of Suame Garages in the Ashanti Region.
The fire, which broke out late on Friday, January 31, 2025, reduced properties valued at millions of cedis to ashes and destroyed a large number of businesses and stores that sold spare components.
The victims claim they have lost properties valued at millions of cedis and believe the fire was started by an electrical malfunction. Many people are currently stranded, saddened, and unsure about how to move past the catastrophe.
Despite the fact that Ghana National Fire Service members responded to the situation, some impacted businessmen were disappointed, arguing that the action was not prompt enough to reduce the damage.Eco-friendly vacation packages
The Ghana National Association of Garages, its leadership, was also held accountable by several victims and craftsmen for not allocating room for a fire station in the region.
Given the existence of extremely combustible materials and equipment employed in their job, they underlined the urgent necessity for a dedicated fire station.
