Bank Of Ghana Second Deputy Governor, Elsie Awadzi, Steps Down

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has announced that Elsie Addo Awadzi, its second deputy governor, will retire from the Central Bank on February 28, 2025.
The Presidency announced the announcement on Friday, February 7, 2025, in a statement.
Awadzi’s decision to retire early was approved by President John Dramani Mahama, who also thanked her for her outstanding service to the Republic and the Bank of Ghana.
He wished her luck in her future undertakings and praised her services to the country’s financial industry.
The President thanks Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi for her distinguished service to the Bank and the Republic and wishes her well in her future endeavors,” the statement read.
Mrs. Awadzi’s tenure at the Bank of Ghana was marked by significant achievements in monetary policy, financial stability, and economic governance.
