Simon Madjie Steps In as GIPC New CEO, Replacing Bernice Makafui Brempong

Following a brief two-week tenure, Dr. Bernice Makafui Brempong has been replaced as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) by Simon Madjie.

The reassignment of Dr. Brempong has been mysterious, and the administration has not offered an official reason. Insiders, however, claim that she has been moved to a strategic position in the government’s seat, Jubilee House.

Since her new role has not yet been made public, there is still opportunity for conjecture regarding the circumstances behind the shift.

After years of experience in both the public and commercial sectors of Ghana, Dr. Brempong, a seasoned economist and public policy specialist, was named CEO of GIPC.

Her brief term at GIPC was considered as a continuation of her commitment to fostering investment and economic growth in Ghana.

Simon Madjie, the incoming CEO, brings a wealth of expertise to the post. He was influential in promoting trade links between Ghana and the United States while serving as the Executive Secretary of the American Chamber of Commerce, Ghana, prior to his appointment.

Under his direction, the Chamber promoted Ghana as a top location for international direct investment and supported a number of well-known investment projects.
