Plans to expand the Kasoa-Winneba Road dualization project to Cape Coast have been announced by President John Dramani Mahama.
The sod-cutting ceremony for the $180 million dual carriageway project along the Kasoa-Winneba route was previously conducted by the former Minister of Roads and Highways.
It is anticipated that the 30-kilometer route will improve trade, reduce traffic congestion, and make it easier to carry goods and services.
President Mahama said that the project would be expanded beyond Winneba while speaking in Cape Coast as part of his thank-you tour to the Central Region.
“While phase one is ongoing, phase two and phase three will be packaged and funded under our Big Push programme,” he stated.
“The second phase of this project will be from Winneba roundabout to the Mankessim roundabout, and the third phase will be from Mankessim to Cape Coast,” he added.
He also said that the Cape Coast to Twifo Praso route and the Yamoransa to Twifo Praso road were among the other important road projects that the government was focusing on.
As part of the NDC’s market enhancement program, President Mahama also revealed intentions to revamp the Mankessim market.
