Dr. Rashid Computer Appointed As Acting CEO Of GIFEC

Dr. Sofo Tanko Rashid Computer has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC).

He officially took office on Friday, February 14, 2025, following a welcome ceremony led by the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Sam Nartey George, at the ministry’s conference room in Accra.

In his remarks, Dr. Computer reaffirmed his commitment to expanding digital inclusion across the country, aligning with GIFEC’s mission to support electronic communications infrastructure in underserved and unserved areas.

He also assured staff of an open-door leadership approach to facilitate the realization of the President’s vision.

Furthermore, Dr. Computer emphasized his dedication to leveraging his expertise to enhance GIFEC’s operations and contribute to the growth of Ghana’s electronic communications and IT sector.

GIFEC, an agency under the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, has the mandate to facilitate universal access to basic telephony and electronic communications in the country, particularly in underserved and unserved communities.
