Finance Minister Denies Rumours Of Freeze On Employment

Claims that the government has put a moratorium on employment in the public sector have been denied by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

In an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, March 12, he denied rumors that hiring in a number of industries will be suspended.

There is no freeze on employment,” he stated emphatically, assuring the public that recruitment would continue based on the country’s economic needs.

His remarks come amid growing concerns over job opportunities in the public sector, with many questioning whether the government has restricted new hires.

Dr. Ato Forson also emphasized the government’s dedication to enhancing work conditions and creating jobs, especially for young people.

He pointed out that important industries like health and education would keep getting the staff they need to maintain vital public services.

The Finance Minister’s explanation is in line with more general economic strategies meant to boost Ghana’s labor force and promote expansion.
