Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey Named Managing Director of Consolidated Bank

As of March 26, 2025, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey has been named Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited’s (CBG) managing director.

In a formal letter signed by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and seen by Citi Business News, the President confirmed her appointment.

Having worked in the financial industry for more than 25 years, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey has a wealth of knowledge in areas such as corporate relationship management, treasury, credit administration, branch banking marketing, and operational risk management.

She graduated from the University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, The Birmingham Business School with a Master of Business Administration in International Banking and Finance, and Nobel International Business (NiBS) University with a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management.

Sheila Azuntaba was named the Deputy Managing Director of CBG in the same letter of appointment that was sent to the CBG Board Chairman.

In accordance with the bank’s constitution and the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), the Minister of Finance has instructed CBG to regularize the positions.

It is anticipated that Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey’s vast experience in banking, finance, and strategic management will be useful in guiding CBG’s operations toward long-term success.
