Work Abroad Programme Begins: First Batch Leaves For South Korea

The first group of Ghanaian youth chosen for the Work Abroad Program has been officially sent to South Korea by Hon. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Minister of Labor, Jobs, and Employment.

The program, which was first organized before Dr. Pelpuo took office, intends to give young Ghanaians legitimate job prospects in the global shipping sector.

In his capacity as Minister, Dr. Pelpuo oversaw the granting of permits and authorizations required to guarantee the recipients’ safe travel and work during the last phases of the deployment process.

Dr. Pelpuo told the leaving recruits in his speech that the Ghanaian government will continue to support them during their time working in South Korea.

In addition to advancing their professions and earning competitive incomes, he urged the young people to take use of this chance to plan for future investments in Ghana, such as small enterprises and housing.

The leaving recruits conveyed their sincere appreciation to the administration and Dr. Pelpuo for making their aspirations come true.

As they got ready to start a new chapter of development and opportunity, there was a sense of enthusiasm and hope.

This program is in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s overarching vision, which continues to place a high priority on foreign labor collaborations, job development, and youth empowerment.
