Fire Ravages 150 Structures In Madina Redco, One Death Reported

Late Sunday night, Madina Redco Flats was devastated by a violent fire that killed a young woman and destroyed more than 150 buildings.
Beginning at 11:15 p.m., the fire consumed 20 metal containers and 140 wooden buildings that were used for both business and residential purposes.
Within two minutes, Madina Fire Station firefighters arrived, aided by Adenta, Legon, Abelemkpe, and Headquarters backup.
Even though they responded quickly, the fire was already well advanced. By 12:02 a.m., the crews were able to contain the fire, and by 2:22 a.m., they had completely put it out.
Sadly, Beauty, a Nigerian woman who was thought to be in her early twenties, perished after becoming caught in the fire. The Madina Police have received her burned remains for preservation and additional examination.
While impacted residents and business owners tally their losses, authorities are evaluating the extent of the damage and looking into what caused the fire.
