Two arrested for possession of arms at Ahenkro Lorry Station
Two individuals have been arrested for the unlawful possession of arms and ammunition at Ahenkro in the Ashanti Region.
The suspects; Yaw Adu and Samando Dokurugu, alias Shapichino, were apprehended by the Ashanti North Regional Police Command on May 16. The arrest occured at the Ahenkro Lorry Station while the pair were riding a motorbike with registration number M-25-NR 1634.
According to a police statement, a search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of one Adler Tulpar Pump Action shotgun with serial number 24SA-1073, and three BB live cartridges from Samando Dokurugu.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the suspects may be linked to recent incidents reported in the area during night-time hours.
The police further noted that both suspects are currently in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations and would be arraigned before court in due course.
