Chief Imam lauds Latex Foam

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Usmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, has expressed gratitude to leading foam manufacturer, Latex Foam, after the company extended another hand of support to the Chief Imam’s Office towards the celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.

Latex Foam, through its officials, made a donation of a cow and an unspecified amount of cash to the Office of the Chief Imam in Accra last Thursday as it honoured the latest of a regular support package to the office of the religious leader.

The Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is an Islamic festival that celebrates the sense of sacrifice as exhibited by the prophet Ibrahim in the Qur’an.

The donation was made at the Chief Imam’s Fadama residence in Accra.

A management delegation from the company, comprising the Export Manager, Dr Yakubu Diomande, and the Public Relations Officer, Gifty E. Appiah, presented the items on behalf of the company during a courtesy visit to the Chief Imam yesterday.

It is the second time this year that Latex Foam had donated to the Office of the National Chief Imam.

Reception

The Latex Foam delegation was received by the Chief Imam and his officials, including the Chief Protocol Officer, Alhaji Latif Abdulsalam, and the Spokesperson of the Chief Imam, Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu.

The donation was later received by Alhaji Abdulsalam and Sheikh Shaibu on behalf of the Chief Imam.

The gesture, which has become part of the company’s yearly commitments towards the Chief Imam’s office, forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

Dr Diomande said the donation was to support the office of the Chief Imam, and to deepen the relationship between the company and the Islamic cleric’s office.

He said Latex Foam recognised the contribution of the Muslim community towards the country’s development, hence the show of support to them during the Eid celebration.

Inspiration

Dr Diomande urged Muslims across the country and the world to be guided by the sacrifice of the prophet Ibrahim and to live by principles that would make the world a better place.

The Latex Foam delegation subsequently sought audience with the Chief Imam, with the religious leader praising the charity gesture of the company towards his office and Islamic activities.

Sheikh Sharubutu thanked Latex Foam for the gesture, and prayed for the continuous success of the company’s business.
