I’ll contest NPP General Secretary position — Former Bortianor MP

A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament of Bortianor‑Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, has declared his intention to contest the General Secretary position in the party’s next national executive election.

He said the party needed bold, innovative and pragmatic leadership as it sought to win the 2028 elections and return to power.

In an interview, Mr Tetteh said he possessed the exemplary leadership and experience to lead the NPP as its general secretary and return the NPP to the seat of government.

“The NPP needs innovation, energy and unity, and I am ready to serve the party,” he said

Vision

Outlining his vision for repositioning the NPP for electoral victory in the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections, the former MP promised to bring bold, tech-driven leadership to strengthen the party’s future and victory in the next election.

“I have decided to contest for the general secretary position of our great party. The time has come to inject new energy, innovative ideas and strategic thinking into the administrative leadership of the NPP,” he stated.

The former deputy Minister of Information stressed the importance of building a strong, united party grounded in effective communication, grassroots mobilisation and youth engagement.

He emphasised the need for a general secretary who was not only committed to party unity but also forward-thinking in leveraging digital tools and data to strengthen the NPP’s organisational capacity across all regions.

Mr Tetteh’s declaration adds momentum to the internal build-up within the NPP as the party begins early preparations for the 2028 general election.
