Mobile money vendor shot at Ngleshie Amanfro

A mobile money vendor has been shot and killed by armed robbers at Ngleshie Amanfro in the Ga South municipality.
The incident occurred at the Quarters area around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Desmond Adzah, 21, was said to have closed from work and was going home when the robbers attacked and shot him in the leg.
Residents
Residents, who said they heard a series of gun shots, indicated that Desmond was rushed to the Ngleshie Amanfro Polyclinic, where he died.
They suspected the killers were known persons who frequented the area.
One of the residents, who identified himself as Raymond and witnessed the incident, said the killers were on a motorbike waiting for Desmond to close his shop.
On his way home, one of the men on the bike shot him in the leg, demobilising him; they then accosted him, pulled him back and took away the bag with the money.
Another resident, Stephen Abbey, a mobile money vendor, said that when Desmond was taken to the polyclinic, the staff delayed in transferring him as they could not stop the blood flow.
He said that when they arrived at the polyclinic and the victim was referred, it took more than an hour for an ambulance to arrive.
He called on the police to beef up security in the area and cited another incident in which a mobile money vendor was killed at Top Town, also at Amanfro.
Again, he mentioned another incident at American Farm at Ngleshie Amanfro in which robbers on a motorbike trailed another mobile money vendor and took her money.
