Two arrested with 519 parcels of suspected Indian hemp in Gomoa Nyanyano

The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested two men in possession of 519 compressed parcels of substances suspected to be Indian hemp at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Central Region.
According to a police statement, the suspects, identified as Eric Nkyeke and Francis Klu, were apprehended while offloading the suspected narcotics from a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck, registration number GS 6849-21.
The police confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody, assisting with investigations, while the vehicle used in the operation has been impounded.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug-related crimes and ensuring the safety and security of the public.
It also warned individuals engaged in such illegal activities to desist or risk facing the full rigours of the law when apprehended.
The public was further urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious drug or criminal activity to the nearest police station.
