One of Ghana’s finest police officers, COP Kofi Boakye, on 6 April 2023, retires from active service.
The Commissioner Of Police was tipped to be the next Inspector General Of Police before retirement. In his time as Asanti Reginal Police commander, the crime rate in the region was minimised.
COP Kofi Boakye is notable for his arrest of rapper Kwaw Kese and for stopping an attempted prison break. He revolutionised police in the Ashanti region.

Today marks the end of a beautiful journey of a man with dedication. COP was committed to protecting the Ghanaian citizens from insurgence. Such a man deserves to be honoured. At his retirement and 60th birthday party, Very Rev Fr DCOP George Arthur said the mere mention of COP Kofi Boakye scared many criminals.
