Abu Jinapor Banished From Gonjaland

All palaces in the Gonja kingdom are off limits to Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, Minister of Lands and National Resources.

On Sunday, July 22, 2024, Yagbonwura Building-Kunuto Soale Jewu, the paramount leader of Gonjaland, made this announcement.

The Yagbonwura declared this decision in response to what they saw as a disrespectful and traditional act.

This is in response to the minister being accused by the traditional authorities of West Gonja of meddling in local customs.

They claim that the public becomes generally dissatisfied and disenchanted with the MP’s persistent meddling in issues that belong in established frameworks.

The interpreters for the Yagbonwura emphasized the seriousness of the situation during a news conference, cautioning that any chief who allows Mr. Jinapor to enter their palace would suffer dire consequences.

“The king will never grant audience to any government delegation, political party, or any person who pays him a visit once it includes Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor until he learns his tradition as a royal and learns how to respect the authority of the Yagbonwura. This statement is final and binding on all paramount chiefs within the Gonja kingdom,”

It is expected of chiefs and other local authorities to rigorously abide by the decree in order to uphold the Yagbonwura’s authority.

Among other things, some of the incensed youth held signs that read, “Abu Jinapor, enough of your selfishness and arrogance” and “No more undermining of traditional authority.”
