Adesanya Reclaims UFC Middleweight Title
Israel Adesanya the style bender has reclaimed his middleweight belt after knocking Alex Pereira in the main event of UFC 287.
On Sunday morning at the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida, Israel Adesanya became the new UFC middleweight champion after defeating Alex Pereira in the main event of UFC 287.
The Nigerian was tactical in this fight after losing his previous bout. His approach to this match was different from his other encounters. The style better was on the defensive against Pereira.
Alex Pereira had initially been on the offence, throwing body hooks and a knee to Adesanya’s ribs, but then Adesanya surprised him with a right jab out of nowhere.

This punch froze Pereira completely. Similar to the end of their previous fight, there was no buzzer to save him. Adesanya then dropped him with another fist, causing Pereira to go out cold. Isreal celebrated his victory by mimicking firing arrows at his rival.
The style bender suffered a controversial points loss to Pereira in their first kickboxing match and was knocked out in their second rematch. In their first MMA clash. Victory over Pereira after four years is refreshing.
