Following a violent altercation between employees of the Forestry Commission and workers at the Akim Oda Timber Market, tensions are rising in Akim Oda, located in the Birim Central Municipality in the Eastern Region.
According to reports, one person has sadly died as a result of the altercation, which has escalated the tension in the neighborhood.
The Akim Oda Forestry Commission’s employees reportedly left their office in response to the crisis after learning that the irate timber market workers were congregating in large numbers.
Although the reason for the altercation is yet unknown, Akim Oda Divisional Police Command officers have been sent to the scene to quell the situation and stop it from getting worse.
