Apple Has Officially Stopped Making These Three iPhone Models

The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max are the four new iPhone models that Apple unveiled at its “It’s Glowtime” event.

Apple is retiring a number of its older models to make place for the new ones, as is customary with new releases.

Apple’s portfolio, which currently consists of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and the third-generation iPhone SE, will welcome the iPhone 16 series this week.

The iPhone 13, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, however, are being discontinued by Apple.

Although Apple will no longer be selling certain models directly, they will still be accessible through independent merchants and might even be provided at a discount.

These older models will still receive software upgrades even after they are being decommissioned. For instance, starting in 2018, iPhone models such as the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR will support Apple’s upcoming iOS 18.

It is noteworthy that the new AI features from Apple, dubbed Apple Intelligence, are limited to the iPhone 16 series and the iPhone 15 Pro models.

These features won’t be available on earlier iPhone models. The screens on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also be larger.

Pre-orders for the new iPhone 16 series will open on Friday, September 13, and deliveries will begin on September 20.

The latest models have better camera technology, new color options, updated processors, and a new feature called Camera Control.

Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods 4, as well as improvements for the Apple Ultra 2, AirPods Max, and AirPods Pro 2, in addition to the new iPhones.
