Armed Robbers Storms Cocoa Depot In Fomena, Escape With Over GH₵1 million.
According to MyNewsGh.com, suspected armed robbers broke into a cocoa depot in the Ashanti Region’s Fomena and stole more than GH₵1 million.
Before escaping, the bandits also shot at the depot manager’s car and snatched cell phones.
The heist happened Thursday night at around 6:20 PM, according to MyNewsGh.com.
Four masked robbers carrying AK-47 assault weapons broke into the Cocoa Depot of the Agro Ecom Company Limited in Adansi Ansah.
They allegedly opened fire on the District Officer’s GMC Terrain 2, registered under the license plate GS 9576-22.
The robbery was reported to the police right away. But the robbers had fled into a nearby thicket with their plunder before they reached the site, leaving no sign of their presence.
The accused are thought to be hiding in nearby settlements, and a joint squad of police officers from Adansi Fomena and New Edubiasi has begun a manhunt for them.
