Army assumes security duties at Jubilee House

The Ghana Army has officially assumed security duties at the Jubilee House, the seat of government, following the 44th Guard Changing Ceremony yesterday.

The event, attended by President John Dramani Mahama and senior government officials, marked the rotational transition of security responsibilities among the various branches of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The Ghana Air Force, which had been in charge of presidential security for the past three months, handed over duties to the Army in line with the quarterly rotation system.

The Navy had previously overseen security before the Air Force’s tenure.

The Guard Changing Ceremony ensures continuous and diversified security coverage at the presidency, with each military branch bringing its expertise to protect the nation’s highest office.

President Mahama commended the outgoing Air Force personnel for their dedication, and urged the incoming Army unit to uphold the highest standards of vigilance and professionalism.

The next rotation is expected to take place in October 2025.
