Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, receive da courtesy call from Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) vice presidential candidate.
The visit took place at the Manyia Palace in the Ashanti Region on Friday, September 27, 2024.
Her campaign staff made this announcement in a brief statement, stating that the visit is planned in advance of the NDC Women’s Conference, which takes place on Monday.
The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has received praise from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, for her contributions to Ghana’s growth.
Speaking to a crowd during Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s courtesy call to the Manhyia Palace, Otumfuo commended her commitment, deference, and humility.
He emphasized the exceptional work that the former Education Minister had done while serving as the University of Cape Coast’s (UCC) vice chancellor.
The Asantehene urged her to uphold these principles when she campaigns alongside NDC flagbearer John Mahama and to help Ghanaians understand their policies in the run-up to the election.
On December 7, the delegation also paid a visit to Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa, who offered prayers for Prof. Opoku Agyemang’s prosperity.
The Asantehemaa emphasized how this achievement could contribute to the advancement of women’s empowerment in Ghana.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang thanked the king and queen for their blessings and reaffirmed her support for the NDC’s plan for the country’s growth.
