Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, the former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, won the Ashanti Regional Council of State election by a landslide victory with 49 votes.
Monday, February 17, 2025, saw the announcement of the election results, which showed that Obimpeh had a sizable lead.
Boadu Nkansah Daniel Anarfi Yamoah only received one vote, compared to 35 for Nana Ayeboafo. No votes were cast for any of the other contenders.
There were 85 legitimate votes cast out of the anticipated 86, and no ballots were returned. The findings show that the Ashanti Region’s voters strongly supported Yaw Owusu Obimpeh’s candidacy.
Obimpeh’s election follows the first election’s suspension last week due to the ensuing chaos.
