Assemblyman Loses Life While Repairing Streetlight In Koforidua

George Agyei Frempong, the Eastern region’s New Juaben South municipality’s assemblyman representing the Oguaa electoral area, passed away on Saturday afternoon from electrocution.

While repairing a streetlight in his electoral district, Agyei Frempong, who is thought to be in his late thirties, was electrocuted.

Witnesses said that after receiving a shock, Agyei Frempong—who is not a qualified electrician—fell off the electrical pole.

A few locals who were present at the time of the incident hurried the assemblyman to Eastern Regional Hospital, where he passed away.

In the most recent district assembly elections, George Agyei Frempong, a well-known carpenter, was chosen to represent the Oguaa electoral region as an assembly member.
