The Assin Central National Democratic Congress (NDC) members who swore at the Electoral Commission (EC) and Godfred Nti Anewu, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate, have been called by the traditional authority of the Efutuakwa Council.
The NPP was charged by the NDC with reportedly transferring voters from Kasoa to the Assin Central Constituency in order to cast their ballots.
No matter how serious the circumstance, it is forbidden to conjure a curse in the Efutuakwa Traditional Area (Assin Fosu).
The NDC was fined GH¢10,000, 10 lambs, and six cartons of schnapps by the Council on Friday.
The delegation, led by the Constituency NDC Chairman Baba Galba and Women’s Organizer Agartha Yawson, was instructed to deliver the things by today, June 14, 2024, so that the required rites can be carried out to lift the curse.
They must also visit the Antoa and Assin Nyankomasi communities to carry out the proper rites in order to break the curse.
This is due to the fact that when the curse was pronounced, they referred to “Antoa” and the stool of Assin Nyankomasi (Aboabo).
The edict is intended to act as a deterrence to others, according to Okumaneng Bafour Asare kyeahene II, who represented the Efutuakwa Traditional Council, and Nana Afranse IV, the queen mother of Assin Fosu.
Nana Bafour Asare asked the lawmakers to put aside their differences and work together for progress.
