Bawumia Assists Victims Of Adum Fire Tragedy

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former vice president, has expressed sympathy to the shopkeepers impacted by the fire outbreak in Adum, the Ashanti Region’s Central Business District.

Many merchants were distressed when the fire, which broke out in the early hours of Friday, March 21, burned a number of stores and properties.

Dr. Bawumia called the occurrence “deeply unfortunate” and promised his help to the impacted traders during a visit to the location on Tuesday, March 25.

He gave the victims words of consolation while accompanied by leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and previous government appointees.

GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement were supplied by Dr. Bawumia to help the traders reconstruct their enterprises.

This support is just a small way to help you get back on your feet. I will continue to stand with you in any way I can,” he assured.

Many traders expressed gratitude for the donation, stating that both the financial aid and cement would help them restart their businesses.

We have lost everything, but this gesture gives us hope,” one shop owner said.

As investigations continue to determine the cause of the fire, the community hopes for long-term measures to prevent similar disasters.
