Bawumia calls on Muslims to continue upholding the virtues of generosity

Bawumia urges Muslims to sustain kindness beyond Ramadan

Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on Muslims to continue upholding the virtues of generosity and compassion they demonstrated during Ramadan.

In a heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr message, he congratulated Muslims in Ghana and around the world for successfully completing the month-long fast and emphasised the need to support the vulnerable in society.

“On the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajia Samira and I extend our warmest congratulations to fellow Muslims in Ghana and the world over, for a successful Ramadan,” he wrote on his social media pages.

He also prayed for divine blessings upon the nation and its people.

“May the Almighty Allah accept our supplications, and extend His favours upon all of us, our loved ones, and our dear nation,” he added.

Call for continued generosity

Dr. Bawumia urged Muslims not to limit their acts of kindness to the holy month but to extend generosity beyond Ramadan.

“Let us continue to uphold the virtues of kindness we showed during the holy month, especially to the poor and vulnerable members of our society. Eid Mubarak,” he stated.

The former Vice President joined fellow worshippers at Burma Camp in Accra for the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers, where he participated in prayers and celebrations marking the end of Ramadan.
